Mark Newman is a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. He completed his Master of Clinical Psychology and Honors degree in Psychological Science at Bond University. Before training to be a psychologist Mark worked as a tennis coach, employment consultant, groundsman, butcher, woodworker, and stay at home dad.
Mark has extensive experience working with adults in private practice and has treated clients with a range of mental health problems, including anxiety disorders, depression, stress and work/life balance, mid-life and existential crisis, trauma, relationship problems, and grief and loss. In his therapy, Mark draws upon a wide range of approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Adlerian (Individual) Psychology, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Family Therapy.
In his therapy sessions Mark’s aim is to help you find solutions to the problems in your life. He believes that therapy cannot change the world around you or how the people around you act. However, therapy has the potential to help you change how you feel about your life and how you respond to life’s challenges. There is no magic cure or fix in therapy, but there is the potential for less suffering, more connection, and a better life. If you currently feel stuck and need help to make changes and move forward, then therapy might be the help you need.
Mark see’s patients 18 years and older and does not provide couples therapy or provide court reports or assesments.
Mark is also a Board Approved Psychology Supervisor.
