Growing up in Moreton Bay near Brisbane, Chris studied medicine at the University of Queensland and graduated with a MBBS in 1994. Two years later he moved to the Northern Rivers region where he has continued to work as a GP and Visiting Medical Officer at Mullumbimby, Lismore, and Ballina Hospitals since.
Having always had an interest in Skin Cancer and Skin Surgery, Chris went on to further his study, gaining a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer at UQ in 2010, and gaining Fellowship of both the Australian College of Skin Cancer Medicine and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia in 2012.
Chris is passionate about medical education and has supervised RACGP registrars and medical students over the course of many years. He is also a lecturer with the UQ School of Medicine, the University of Woollongong Graduate School of Medicine, the University Centre of Rural Health in Murwillumbah, as well as lecturing in Dermoscopy for the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
Chris regularly attends national and international conferences in Skin Cancer in addition to contributing to internationally published research in the field of Skin Cancer.
Chris enjoys life with his family, dogs, chickens and a sheep, on a small rural property in the shire.
