Speech Pathology

Experienced speech pathologist Catherine Hudson provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of swallowing, speech, language, fluency  and voice disorders. Cathy has worked extensively with children, the elderly and adults with neurological disease such as MS or head and neck cancer. Cathy also has training in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment program for Parkinsons disease patients.

  • Head and neck cancers may cause swallowing and speech difficulties.
  • Laryngectomy - loss of the voice box due to cancer, patients may need a voice prosthesis or use of a communication aid.
  • Voice disorders eg vocal nodules, polyps, contact ulcer affect the ability to produce a clear voice.
  • Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease may experience swallowing difficulties.

  • Medicare Health Care Plans accepted
  • HICAPS available for immediate private health insurance rebates
  • For patients with voice disorders (eg. vocal nodules, contact ulcers, polyps) an ENT assessment and referral is necessary.
  • No referral necessary for all other patients
