Dr Stella Ward

General Practitioner

Stella grew up in rural Scotland and studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2006.  She undertook her first two years of hospital training in the West of Scotland before moving to the sunny Gold Coast in 2008.  

 After spending two years working in the Emergency Department at Gold Coast Hospital, Stella returned to Scotland in 2010 to complete the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH). In 2011 she began GP training in Northern New South Wales, working in Mullumbimby, Byron Bay and Murwillumbah before completing her Fellowship in 2013.


Stella's main area of interest is women's health. She is currently studying to obtain the Certificate of Women's Health through the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is qualified to insert intrauterine contraceptive devices, including the Mirena IUD. She enjoys all aspects of women's health, from contraception, to pregnancy, menstrual issues, cervical screening, menopause and beyond.

Stella has also completed the Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine with the Australasian College of Skin Cancer in 2012. She also enjoys the complexities and challenges of aged care and chronic disease management. Stella has recently obtained certificate of Womens Health. 

Stella is married and lives with her husband and two small children on the Gold Coast. She enjoys keeping active with surfing, yoga and running around after her kids.
