Chronic Disease Co-ordinator | Registered nurse

Mary has nursing experience of over 35 Years and is both a Registered General Nurse and Midwife. She is the Mother of 4 boys aged 20 – 27 years, 3 of which are still completing various University degrees. Her previous experience consists of 12 years full time theatre scrub nurse and 5 years Nursing Unit Manager of Emergency Department.

Other experience include a neonatal intensive Care Nurse and Registered Nurse in differerent wards in our Local Murwillumbah and Tweed Area Hospitals.

For the past 10 years Mary has worked in the general practice setting in the local Tweed Heads area. She has worked primarily in the area of Skin Cancer prevention and treatment and a Chronic Disease Management. With her previous Theatre and Nursing Unit management experience Mary has helped establish the Skin Cancer Clinic here at the Tweed Health for Everyone Super Clinic.
 
Mary is the Chronic Disease Nurse for Tweed Health for Everyone Superclinic, she interviews patients to determine their specific needs and requirements for their many and varied Chronic Diseases.
 
Mary also works with Dr Diane Blanckensee and Dr Austin Sterne at “Freds Place” the joint homeless refuge centre of St Vincent De Paul and North Coast Medicare Local, offering services to the homeless and needy.
 
Mary is passionate about her Family, nursing and caring for her patients.
